Director Horn focuses on mementos that émigrés bring with them, waistbands, photos, blankets, all infused with and evocative of loss, yet reminders of kinder times, times that often seem kinder with the passing of time. Unseen, these émigrés are not reduced but rather stand in for the legion of the dispossessed. A beautifully crafted piece.
