A path mined and maintained by corporations with the power of nation states and nation states that play the game, or are played. Based on Andrew Feinstein’s acclaimed book, Shadow World masterfully breaks down the global arms trade that has shaped our century. Ever since greedy alchemists figured out how to turn blood to gold, this process has outstripped individuals and regimes, and tarnished us here in South Africa. Director Grimonperez navigates this sullen global terrain without ever losing sight of the human story. Because, behind a leaden veil are other humans, the true makers of reality, who, until confronted, will ensure that we will never be at peace.

On Thursday the 9th of June, Sunshine Cinema will be hosting a free screening of Shadow World based on Andrew Feinstein’s acclaimed book that masterfully breaks down the global arms trade that has shaped our century.
